September 9 2022

Cityscape, a leading real estate show in the Middle East, is launching its first proptech conference on 20-21 November 2022.

Held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, the show will focus on “the beginning of a new era in innovation, transparency and sustainability”, in line with the government’s agenda to enhance the real estate sector.

PlaceTech will attend as a media partner.

The focus of the conference will be on technological advancements and sustainability practices in Bahrain, the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and globally. Speakers will also discuss gaps in the industry and how proptech is driving cost-reduction, better efficiency and improved customer experience.

The event, held in partnership with RERA, Bahrain Economic Development Board, and ME Proptech Initiative will feature developers, occupiers, investors, tech companies and government representatives.

Confirmed speakers at MEA Proptech include:

  • Amin Alarrayed, CEO, Edamah
  • Khaled Zaidan, managing partner, Watheeq Proptech Venture
  • Binoo Joseph, group CTO/CIO, Emaar
  • Mete Varas, founder, ME Proptech Initiative
  • Omar Abu Innab, CEO, Keyper
  • Sanjay Goyal, MD, Estater

The conference follows the publication of Bahrain’s National Real Estate Plan 2021-2024, which aims to promote investment in the real estate market, safeguard stakeholders’ rights and nurture new and innovative real estate companies.

Within proptech, the plan focuses on developing the sector by forming an integrated ecosystem that attracts international companies, attracting global experts and creating high-income jobs.

Chris Speller, vice president at Informa Markets, which owns Cityscape, said: “We are excited to host the first edition of MEA Proptech in Bahrain, as the sector is going through transformational change.

“Proptech represents the rising wave of real estate innovation that is disrupting the property market both regionally and globally, and we look forward to hosting insightful discussions on the future of real estate in Bahrain and the region.

“We’d like to thank the government of Bahrain for its support along with key local partners in the Kingdom that have helped shape this conference and are excited to host immersive and interactive discussions during the event.”
